I just can’t get away from it.
This weekend I decided to get out of town and visit my sisters in Utah. I needed to just get away from school and relax a little but. I stopped by my sister, Tricia, and had a great visit with her and her family. After some ice skating and spending the night I headed down to Beth’s and stayed with them (Played the Wii.. a lot.) After going to church with them I headed up to visit Kaytie.
Everything was great. I was driving a long zoning out like I usually do when I drive and then Bam! the car turns off. I coasted to the shoulder and as far as I could to get off on the nearest exit, didn’t quite make it. I hopped out, called Dad and started investigating. I figured it was the fuel system so a very nice gentlemen who stopped to give me a hand drove me to a parts store and I picked up a filter. After replacing it, nothing, so we pushed the car as we could and with the help of some passing people pushed it into a 7 eleven parking lot.
It was Sunday so no shops were open and nothing could be done. The gentleman gave me a ride to his place where I could be comfortable and warm and make phone calls. They even fed me dinner. After many phone calls and a short time later Tricia picked me up and took me back to her place.
In the morning I got back to work, I called several shops and found one near my cars location. So we packed up the kids and headed back Kaysville with Lynn (my sisters father-in-law) and his big truck. We towed my car to the shop and let them do that they do best. They were quite busy but they managed to fit me in.
I spent all day with Tricia and the kids trying to kill time. We went to temple square and toured the Conference Center and the Tabernacle. Then on a whim we went back to the shop to see how my car was doing. Found out that there was an issue with one of two things; the distributor or the crank sensor. Since they have a deal with a parts supplier they couldn’t get me good prices on either, and they couldn’t get the parts for a couple of days. So I went to the nears parts store and bought the parts my self saving close to $200.
As we were headed back to Tricia’s place I get a phone call telling me my car is done and ready to go. So one quick jont back to my car and I headed to Logan to get a good nights rest.
Thanks to Tricia, Lynn, Jared, Kaytie, Bethy, that nice man who stopped to help and their familied for their help over this weekend. It was stressfull, but it wasn’t dull that’s for sure.
